Identify the codes first
Collect examples of item, case, pallet and rack labels. If QR or Data Matrix is used alongside linear codes, confirm support in the exact model documentation. Test symbol size, damage, glare and angle separately. Long range is not a single guaranteed scanning distance for every label.
Handheld, wearable or fixed
A cabled reader may suit a packing station; cordless or wearable scanning may suit walking tasks; a fixed reader may suit a conveyor. These are starting points for a pilot, not universal prescriptions. Datalogic's product areas include both barcode readers and mobile computers.

Test the complete WMS transaction
- Scan a lot or case identifier where the application expects an item; check rejection behavior.
- Verify the configured Enter or Tab suffix and field focus.
- Scan twice to test duplicate detection and quantity handling.
- Disconnect and reconnect the reader.
- Make the difference between a successful decode and a successful WMS posting clear to operators.
Turkish search terminology
In Turkish searches, “barkot okuyucu” is a spelling variant of “barkod okuyucu”, meaning barcode scanner. It is not a separate device category. Compare supported symbologies, connectivity, working conditions and application behavior.
