Direct thermal and thermal transfer
Direct thermal printing uses suitable heat-sensitive material without a ribbon. Thermal transfer uses a ribbon to transfer the image. Establish the label's intended lifetime and environment before selecting the printer and consumables together.

Desktop, industrial or mobile printer
Do not choose from a universal labels-per-day cutoff. Record peak demand, roll changes, print width, cutter or peeler needs and operating conditions. For small barcodes, assess resolution and template dot dimensions together. Revalidate dimensions and readability when moving a template between different printer resolutions.
Turkish characters and WMS integration
- Check that item, lot, date and quantity come from the correct order.
- Print Ç, Ğ, İ, Ö, Ş and Ü on the actual device; validate fonts and encoding.
- Confirm routing to the right printer in the right warehouse.
- Trace reprints following media depletion or a network outage.
- Verify that a reprint does not unintentionally change the pallet or case identifier.
Inkjet and laser media
Check coating and printer compatibility for the specific media product. For example, Avery states that its clear laser labels are unsuitable for inkjet printing. Identical dimensions do not make two label materials interchangeable.
Turkish spelling variants
“Barkot yazıcı” and the unaccented “barkod yazici” refer to barcode printers in Turkish searches. They do not identify different printing technologies. Compare print method, width, resolution and the WMS print interface.
